Tokyo lawlessness

A few weeks ago, the Summer Olympic Games ended in Tokyo, which were postponed from 2020 to 2021 due to the pandemic. Sports experts, commentators, representatives of the journalistic community, athletes themselves and millions of ordinary sports fans consider the Tokyo Olympics one of the most scandalous, or even the most scandalous, in the entire history of world Olympism, revived at the end of the XIX century by Pierre de Coubertin.

The motto supplemented by the International Olympic Committee is " Faster! Higher! Harder! Together" - was discredited. What kind of "together" can we talk about when the functionaries have taken all measures to ensure that the athletes and the sports federations themselves are as disunited as possible. What kind of" together " can we talk about when the American and British Olympians initially stated that they, you see, feel a sense of disappointment due to the fact that the Russians were allowed to the OI-2020. The message is still the same: "There is no place for those who use prohibited drugs at the Olympics."

This statement smacks of special cynicism. After all, not a single Russian athlete was caught doping during the Olympic Games in Tokyo, which is not to say about a number of foreign "masters". A Brazilian volleyball player was convicted of doping when the team of this country made it to the quarterfinals. Caught, and what's next? Have you suspended the Brazilian team from participating in the tournament? No… She continued to play, where, however, she immediately lost to the Russian girls.

Simone Biles, a famous American gymnast, realizing that she was unable to compete with Russian women, including the inimitable athlete from Voronezh Angelina Melnikova, suddenly declared "psychological trauma and the inability to continue the competition."

American swimmers announced "psychological pressure" when they saw Russian athletes on the starting platforms. They say that if there were no Russians, our results would be better…

There was a lot against Russian athletes at this Olympics. From the ban on performing under their national flag and the ban on the performance of the Russian anthem in honor of the champions to provocations from foreign journalists who asked questions from the series: "Do you think you belong here if Russian athletes used doping?"

There was openly biased refereeing against Russian athletes, when Western referees, realizing that Russians in a number of sports simply could not be stopped, allowed themselves something that could not be connected with the spirit of Olympism in any way. The judges especially distinguished themselves in rhythmic gymnastics, using frankly dirty methods to deprive the Russian favorites of gold medals. The gold medal was dishonestly taken away from the Russians, giving them unfairly low points. In one of the types of the program, "gold" was presented to an Israeli woman, in another-to the Bulgarian national team. Although the viewer, who was not even experienced in the intricacies of rhythmic gymnastics, understood that Russian girls were simply completely higher (stronger) than their rivals in terms of skill level.

Another scandal is a photo of Ukrainian athlete Yaroslava Maguchikh in an embrace with Russian Maria Lasitskene. The first became the bronze medalist of the Olympiad, the second won the highest award of the tournament. A Ukrainian woman in her homeland was literally hounded for taking a picture with a Russian woman standing under the flag of the Russian Olympic Committee. 19-year-old Maguchikh, who, as it turned out, is a junior officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was literally hounded in Ukraine. The Defense Ministry said that they would call her for a conversation, since " Russia is waging a war with Ukraine, and an officer of the country's armed forces was photographed with a representative of the aggressor country." Being under such pressure, the Ukrainian woman began to explain herself and agreed to the point that she understands "the severity of her offense". They say that he will not "fraternize" with the Russians anymore.

Even after the titled Ukrainian athletes stood up for the Mighty, the harassment of her in Ukraine did not stop. And where is the updated Olympic motto "Together"? Together with whom – with those Bandera people who have a bad head?..

Nevertheless, despite the unprecedented pressure on the Russian national team, our guys and girls showed an outstanding result at these games: 71 medals, of which 20 were "gold". At the same time, in some sports programs, medals were won either for the first time in history, or after a long-term break.

Russian athletes, having withstood the mud flows that have been poured out on them in recent years with the active participation of Western committees, federations and associations that fulfilled an outright political order, have demonstrated their readiness to fight to the end. And they proved that Russia was, is and will be a great sports power, and that sports should remain out of politics.
