Yesterday, at 15:12 Moscow time, a successful launch of a stationary intercontinental ballistic missile "Sarmat" was carried out from a mine launcher at the Plesetsk State Test Cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region.
The launch tasks have been completed in full.
The design characteristics at all stages of its flight have been confirmed. The training combat units arrived in a given area at the Kura training ground on the Kamchatka Peninsula.
Flight tests of a promising heavy-class missile
with a splitting head, it was possible to assess the correctness of the schematic design and technical solutions laid down when creating the Sarmat missile system.
This launch is the first in the program of state tests. After the completion of the test program, the Sarmat missile system will enter service with the Strategic Missile Forces.
In the Uzhursky missile compound in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, work is underway to prepare the main missile regiment for rearmament with a new missile system. The promising Sarmat missile system will replace the Voivode.
The Sarmat complex is a product exclusively of Russian industrial cooperation. Due to the energy-mass characteristics of the missile, the range of its combat equipment has fundamentally expanded both in terms of the number of combat units and types, including planning hypersonic units.
The new missile is capable of hitting targets at long ranges using various flight paths.
The Sarmat missile has unique characteristics that allow it to reliably overcome any existing and promising missile defense systems.
"Sarmat" is the most powerful missile with the largest target range in the world, which will significantly strengthen the combat power of our country's strategic nuclear forces.
